Thai exports contracted by 0.3% YoY in June 2024, hit by a sharp decline in durian shipments (Business Brief No.4075 Full Ed.)

คะแนนเฉลี่ย
    • Thai exports contracted by 0.3 percent YoY in June 2024, falling short of market expectations. The decline was primarily caused by a 42.9-percent YoY decrease in fresh durian shipments to China. Meanwhile, automobile exports reverted to growth, and electronics shipments continued to grow.
    • During 2H24, Thai exports are expected to see less growth compared to those reported for the first half, which expanded by 2.0 percent YoY. This is due to additional negative factors, including an economic slowdown among trading partner countries and structural challenges facing Thailand.
    • KResearch maintains its growth forecast for 2024 Thai exports at 1.5 percent. Close attention must be paid to uncertainty surrounding the US presidential election.
