Average inflation for 2024 stood at 0.4%; Inflation in 2025 expected to rise to 0.7% (Business Brief No.4112)

Thailand’s headline inflation accelerated to 1.23 percent YoY in December 2024, driven by low energy prices and rising prices of some food and beverage items.
For full-year 2024, average headline inflation stood at 0.4 percent, slightly below our prior estimate of 0.5 percent, while core inflation averaged 0.6 percent.
KResearch views that the average headline inflation may rise to 0.7 percent in 2025 as domestic energy prices are likely to remain close to current levels, while the base prices during 1H24 were low. Additionally, impacts of the minimum wage hike are expected to contribute around 0.08 percent to the uptick in inflation.
