Thailand’s inflation for May 2025 contracted for the second consecutive month; full-year inflation forecast lowered to 0.3% (Business Brief No.4160 Full Ed.)

  • Thailand’s headline inflation rate for May 2025 stood at (-) 0.57 percent YoY, declining for the second consecutive month, driven by lower domestic energy prices compared to the previous year and reduced vegetable and fruit prices due to high base effects.
  • In June 2025, Thailand’s inflation may turn positive. Meanwhile, in 2Q25, Thailand’s inflation may stand at (-) 0.2 percent YoY on average, but this is not considered deflation.
  • KResearch has lowered its forecast for Thailand’s headline inflation to 0.3 percent, from the previous projection of 0.5 percent, although Thailand’s inflation rate may return to slightly positive levels in 2H25.
