The SET index soared up over-week, ending at 1,643.52 points, up 1.78% over-week. The average daily trading value was THB44,962.24 million, that being 21.49% lower. The mai closed at 429.41 points, increasing 2.46% over-week.
The SET index rose early in the week on gains in energy and petrochemical shares as well as institutional investor purchases. It then fell shortly amid concerns on the global trade war after the US announced tariffs on Chinese goods. However, the index gradually recovered as investors bought stocks before listed companies' announcement of their Q2-18 earnings results.
