The Baht fell while the SET ended the week lower on sell-offs of institutional investors.

The SET index fell sharply at the end of the week to 1,717.97 points, down 0.99% over-week. The average daily trading value was THB58,401.58 million, up 0.36% over-week. The mai closed at 373.33 points, down 0.49% over-week.

The SET index fell early in the week on sell-offs of institutional investors as Fed's aggressive rate cut hopes were dashed, but it later rebounded somewhat supported by news reports that US-China trade talks will resume next week. However, the SET index fell sharply at the end of the week in line with regional stock markets amid expectations that Fed could be less aggressive with monetary policy at the upcoming meeting scheduled for the end of the month due to the release of better-than-expected economic data.
