The SET rose steadily from the beginning of the
week on purchases of institutional and foreign investors due to the end of
quarter window dressing. The SET dropped briefly around midweek before surging
again during the rest of the week in line with other stock markets, supported
by US infrastructure investment plan. The purchases of stocks in industries
such as banking, construction materials, technology and energy (which was
boosted by rising global oil prices and OPEC+ agreed to increase oil production
gradually) during the week also gave support to the SET.
