The SET index dropped to close at a 10-month low, ending at 1,595.58 points, down 2.41% over-week. The average daily trading value was THB53,313.34 million, that being 13.55% higher. The mai closed at 416.57 points, decreasing 5.28% over-week.
The SET index fell almost throughout the week even though energy shares were supported by global oil price increases. However, they were not enough to compensate pressures of foreign sell-offs early to midweek amid concerns on the global trade war especially counteractions of the US and China. Despite foreign net buy again late in the week, the index still closed in the negative range, contrary to other regional stock markets.
