• The Iran war has directly affected Thailand’s vehicle exports to the Middle East, which is the country’s third largest vehicle export market after Asia and Oceania, with a market share of 21%. The most affected vehicle category is pickup trucks, with Thailand exporting as many as 114,644 units to the Middle East in 2025.
• For the outlook in 2026, the Iran war is not the only risk Thailand faces in exporting vehicles to the Middle East. Vehicles exported from China represent another major risk factor. Last year, China’s exports to the Middle East increased by 45%, while Thailand’s exports grew by only 2%.
• KResearch therefore expects that, in 2026, Thailand’s vehicle exports to the Middle East will likely shrink by 7.5% from the previous year, with total exports volume falling to 185,000 units, driven by the two risk factors mentioned above.
