Increased adoption of new BEV taxis is seen in Thailand as issues related to costs and limited number of fueling stations squeeze share of other taxi type
  • The battery electric vehicle (BEV) taxi market in Thailand has grown steadily. In 2024, it is expected that the number of BEV taxis will increase to 49 percent of all new taxis registered at 3,300 units.
  • On the other hand, share of NGV taxis in the market may decline to 15 percent because of the issues related to costs and limited number of fueling stations. For LPG taxis, despite the rising gas prices, LPG taxis remain a viable option for the segments that are not ready or concerned about the adoption of new technologies, thanks to the higher availability of fueling stations.
