Economic mechanism and waste management

คะแนนเฉลี่ย

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is planning to increase garbage collection fees for households that do not sort garbage by 3-4 times. Based on new fees, households that do not sort their waste will be charged THB60 per month, up from the current rate of THB20 per month. However, households that sort their waste will be charged at the same rate. KResearch views that this initiative aims to encourage waste separation through the use of economic tools by setting prices and providing incentives to separate waste. Many countries have implemented fee collection schemes that incentivize households to separate their waste.
