Which product categories saw price declines, and which categories rose and proved difficult to come down, as energy prices surged following the Russia–Ukraine crisis?

คะแนนเฉลี่ย
  • Following the Russia–Ukraine energy crisis in 2022, prices of energy and agricultural products—such as electricity, vegetables, and fruits—declined after the situation eased. In contrast, prices of goods that tend to be difficult to reduce once they rise are mostly those in the core inflation basket, such as processed food and public transportation fares.
  • Regarding Thailand's inflation outlook in 2026, energy prices are expected to rise in 2Q-2026 and then gradually decline but not return to pre‑crisis levels. Agricultural prices are expected to increase in line with higher energy and fertilizer costs and still face risks from El Niño, while core inflation is expected to gradually accelerate and is likely to be difficult to ease once cost pass‑through has occurred.
