Hong Kong Disneyland: Thai Tourists Spending THB8.6 Billion in Hong Kong

คะแนนเฉลี่ย

Hong Kong ranks fourth in the list of the most favorite tourist destinations for Thai travelers. In 2004, 238,827 Thais visited Hong Kong, rising by 59.6 percent from the year before. During the period, their travel-related spending in the territory totaled THB6.837 billion. Of this, 34.5 percent or THB2.359 billion went to shopping-related spending.

In 2005, Kasikorn Research Center (KRC) projects that a greater number of Thais will likely make a trip to Hong Kong thanks to scores of favorable factors including the opening of Hong Kong Disneyland, particularly in October and late of the year. Throughout the year, Thais traveling to Hong Kong are expected to reach 295,111 persons, a year-on-year rise of 24 percent. With their spending, Thailand will likely lose around THB8.6 billion in foreign currency, increasing by 26 percent over the year before.
