Tourism Thriving in 4Q12: Chao Phraya Cruises Earning THB700 Million (Business Brief No.3380 Full Ed.)

คะแนนเฉลี่ย
Chao Phraya River cruises have helped promote Bangkok as an important destination for international tourists. Previously, these river cruises were typically offered during the Loy Krathong and New Year festivals, but they have been available year-round for some time now, helping attract a substantial number of foreign tourists. River cruise operators are now targeting Thai family and corporate clients to offset the decline in international tourist arrivals during the low season by offering packages combining merit-making with sightseeing tours to historical landmarks and communities along the riverbanks.
To attract long-haul foreign tourists, especially those from the eastern hemisphere during the year-end festive season, cruise operators are being urged to feature Thai culture, historical venues, local communities and Thai cuisine in their services.

During the final two months of 2012, we at KResearch expect that Thai tourism will become more vibrant, thanks to the many festivities, including Loy Krathong and the New Year. Chao Phraya River cruise business with accompanying dining services should benefit from this trend. We expect to see turnover projected to reach at least THB700 million during the period. As a result, full-year turnover should reach some THB3 billion, increasing 50 percent YoY.
