China faces the highest combined reciprocal tariffs; its 2025 economic growth may fall below KResearch’s prior forecast by 1% (Current Issue No.3574 Full Ed.)

คะแนนเฉลี่ย
  • The US has imposed a 34-percent reciprocal tariff on China, set to take effect on April 9, 2025. As a result, the average US tariff on Chinese goods will be up to 75 percent.
  • Following the US tariff announcement, China urged the US to cancel the tariff hike and vowed countermeasures would be introduced, though details have not yet been provided. Negotiations between the two sides are unlikely to materialize anytime soon.
  • Based on China’s responses to the previous US tariff hikes, it is expected that Chinese authorities will primarily resort to non-tariff measures in retaliation.
  • KResearch anticipates a sharp decline in US-China trade, with the impact becoming more pronounced after the reciprocal tariffs are implemented in the second quarter of 2025.
