Game Cloud Computing: New Business with Promising Growth via Understanding of Thai Consumers (Current Issue No.3111)

คะแนนเฉลี่ย

The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has not only resulted in the growing popularity of gaming, but also opened business opportunities for game cloud computing (GCC) entrepreneurs in Thailand. Given this, we at KResearch have assessed that turnover in the GCC market may grow from THB7.3 billion reported in 2019 to THB10.3 billion in 2020. The figure is set to increase in the future even if the COVID-19 pandemic has ended.

GCC entrepreneurs in Thailand are urged to use an integrated GCC model, based on consumer data, along with their advantages in the understanding of Thai consumers' overall behavior, plus gaming products and services via marketing campaigns to enhance their competitiveness against international peers.

However, Thai GCC entrepreneurs must comply with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), wherein they must ensure that their customers agree to provide personal information in accordance with the specified purposes. Meanwhile, since the potential of Thai GCC entrepreneurs are inhibited by the fact that our submarine cable networks are not expansive enough, the public sector may need to consider accelerating investment in the submarine cable project to link Thailand with other countries in the region and support the Thai GCC business to tap into international markets.
